The band led by Johnny Douglas born in Toronto, Canada is currently holding his musical fort in Nashville, TN. Numerous songs from the self-titled album have already been placed in the Showtime hit series "Shameless" as well as other popular TV shows such as Necessary Roughness, Blue Mountain State, The Listener, The Young and the Restless, Beverly Hills 90210, Smallville, and Jane By Design. Douglas has been around the music biz for a number of years having songs of his recorded by the likes of Gregg Allman and Jeff Healey. Douglas has shared the stage with legends like B.B. King, Jerry Garcia, Roy Orbison and Steve Cropper (of Booker T & the M.G.’s fame) but always gravitates back to his solo projects to quench his creative longings. The full length album released on Bongo Boy Records includes 14 original tracks written and recorded by Johnny Douglas under the moniker of Zombie Garden Club.

Up from the dust and the dirt.  Interstates snaking across the great, throbbing heart of America.  And big guitars.  Plugged in.  Turned up.  Hearts full of rain and eyes wide open.  Fast cars.  Late nights.  Deep diamond veins to mine.  Storms and the mornings after. Two lane black top over the edge of the world into a breathless sky. Girls smile. The band plays on.

  • SINGLE REVIEW - WHITER SHADE OF PALE BY ZOMBIE GARDEN CLUB

  • Simply put, this song is nothing like either of those covers, although a strong case can be made that Siouxsie’s version of Dear Prudence is quite beautiful. Listen to this song. You will be amazed. If I were to sum up the Zombie Garden Club’s cover of A Whiter Shade of Pale in one word that word would be beautiful.

'There is really nothing more to say. The piano is beautiful and his vocals will send a chill down your spine. I am literally speechless. I could go on about the soulfulness of his voice or the fact that Johnny studied classical music for several years in his native Canada, but sometimes it is best to simply let the music speak for itself.  Listen to this song. You will be blown away. I was. The Grouch | Sweden

  • Steel Notes Magazine - Review

“Zombie Garden Club and their garage rock track, “Ache of Love” has that hip, groovy sound reminiscent of 60's bands like The Standells, The Yardbirds and The Seeds.” “Burn”, has that 60's Psychedelic/Garage sound, heavy on guitar riffs, fat bottom and pounding percussion, which is making a big comeback in the national music scene “ – Michael McKenna Steel Notes Magazine

  • Starlight Music Chronicles - Review

“Zombie Garden Club is PURE Psychedelic Rock in the best way: their song 'Ache of Love' pulls you into a hip-swinging late 60's/early 70's go-go boot happy smile as you listen. Each and every song that has been written and recorded on this album it was like the layers in the Willy Wonka Gobstopper coming to life: colorful, fun, magical, unique, and a fabulous treat for the ears for those seeking to resurrect that classic vibrant swinging rock sound.”  – CA Marshall Starlight Music Chronicles

  • Pure Pop Radio - Review

“Surprise! It’s another heavy hitting slab of genius rock ‘n’ pop ‘n’ roll from Bongo Boy Records–another killer, in-your-face, slamming, aching, take-no-prisoners kind of album full of vim, vigor, vitamins and God knows what else. And speaking of “what else”… holy cow…this is something else…entirely something else and fresh and free and you’d better get out of the way, kids, if you know what’s good for you! - PurePopRadio Alan Haber

  • Here Comes The Flood - Review

“Currently based in Nashville, TN, he will be far too loud for the country crowd, but rockers of all ages will welcome him with their arms wide open. Douglas has a knack for coming up with fresh hooks that sound familiar before the song is over.”  - The Netherlands - Here Comes The Flood Hans Werksman
