Y FLY 2 LONDON is a band from New Jersey, The USA; whose iconic release of their “Just Say No” EP forever changed the local music scene in the 80’s.  This re-release by Bongo Boy Records is exciting as this EP received rave reviews like Billboards published on April 24, 1986:  “New Jersey quartet on homegrown label has a big sound that combines hard rock chops with pop ears. Y FLY 2 LONDON consists of Nick Destefano on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Chris Hopp on Lead Vocals, Rob Beaupre on Bass and Bill McCloskey on Drums. The band’s songwriting which is a unique mix of hard rock and pop helped secure major radio airplay and with the release of their music video “Just Say No” the band was seen on MTV and TV stations across the USA.
The EP was produced by the late great Benjy King; longtime keyboardist for Scandal and Patty Smyth, his incredible production on this record gave the independent release the attention from media outlets worldwide.
Special guests included the Miami Horns Mark Pender, Stan Harrison, Ed Manion and Mike Spengler from Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie’s band. The incredible performance by this horn section on “Don’t Runway” helped give the release of “Just Say No” credibility. Also James Lewis from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Donnie Kisselbach, bassist for Alice Cooper contributed to this EP.
